ACCESSIBILITY

It is AIM’s policy to ensure our events are as inclusive as possible. While we cannot pre-empt or plan for everything, we take practical steps to increase accessibility at all of our events and liaise regularly with expert organisations, such as Attitude is Everything, to ensure our actions are appropriate.

Here are practical steps we are taking at AIM Connected to maximise accessibility:

  • Make clear on all events listings that this will be a step free venue, with an accessible toilet.

  • Personal Assistant tickets are available.

  • Ensure there will be no strobe lighting.

  • Have an Accessible Seating Viewing Area where people can sit down with a view of the stage / speaker. This location might be used by wheelchair users, or anyone who needs to sit during a show or avoid being in a tightly-packed crowd. Lots of different people might need this, including people with hidden impairments.

  • There will be standing room at the back for pacing and taking personal space.

We would welcome any suggestions you have about further practical measures we could implement that would be of benefit. We can't guarantee we will be able to act on all suggestions received, we will where we can. We take accessibility very seriously and are always keen to improve our planning.
